Through stories and examples of this illustrated talk we will explore the work of data scientists, how they add value and the skills that make them successful. You will learn why this discipline has recently become critically important to many organizations. While data scientists can find answers to complex real-world business questions, their value is significantly enhanced when working in close partnership with other professionals. You will learn what to expect when working with a data scientist and how best to make your projects involving data science deliver benefits to your organization.
Derek Belyea is the founder of Analytix Studio. Working as a management consultant, business analyst and IT project manager he has assisted clients in many industries including real estate, financial services, commercial aviation, manufacturing, distribution and higher education. Derek holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from UBC and has also earned the CPA, CMC and PMP designations.
